I didn't find grapes

Like I said, i went to look for grapes but found none.

So I drew them instead, on paper this time. With a pencil.

Would probably dream about them tonight since I didn't get to eat any.

But at least I got a chance to try emphasis on lines a little more. The shading could use work but as starters (and as someone who wasn't much in the mood because of hunger) the shape is the most important.

As with a pencil sketch, the first thing needed is the shape. The shading gives it a little more depth, yes, but a shape can tell you what the object is from the first glance. Not unlike doing silhouettes. The details themselves are within the shape. Simple lines can turn into stems and stalks, and the fruits would not look as much as the ovals they really are.

So I made grapes. Which rhymes with shapes.

Getting Inky

My bottle of ink was calling me. There was still some left. (Not all went to my blue rosed door.)

I took a small brush in hand and tried some strokes. Guess I was hungry. This was the result.

I could just imagine the grapes popping in my mouth.

....time to look for grapes then.

Bent and Bottled

Did a little cleaning up around my room and had picked up nails from previous little projects. Most were bent - from practicing my hammering skills (so you can guess how skillful I am.

They looked kind of creepy and with Halloween 'round the corner, I guessed I could use them for decoration.

I took a glass bottle and popped them in then plugged in the cork.

Here's my handiwork.

The bent nails looked great. I could picture them in as a witch's ingredient for a prickly potion.

Hmm. I wonder what else I could bottle up.

Opening Doors

I can't call myself a true artist, maybe just when the mood strikes. I pick up what I can and do doodles, sketches, strikes, etcetera.

So I keep paints, brushes and other stuff lying around for convenience. And when paper feels too restricted, I take it out on walls and doors - of my own room of course.

It's a good thing my door's just plywood. I knew I'd be doing the painting myself.

The blue is acrylic paint, the white is chalk, the black is ink. I like mixing different mediums.

It's not done yet. I'm still trying to convince my mom to let me spray paint the background black. (She thinks the color's too dark.)

P.S. I used my phone's camera. I'll use one with a better resolution once it's finished.
